SPAY ME! Is An IMPRESSIVE Non-Profit Organization! What a JOY to find such loving, compassionate and CAPABLE individual's in the outstanding animal clinic of Spay Me! My story may not be unusual, although it was the first I've heard of it, since it happened to me. I work for the government and because of budget cuts that hit the federal level, I decided to postpone my 2nd female dog's spaying until I had more cash on hand, as my vet's price for the procedure was in my pocketbook's mind, a bit pricey.....I justified raising my dog [now 4 years old] as an unfixed female, as long as I kept her away from male dogs. Little did I realize that this can become a "health issue" as she developed Pyometra, which is an illness common to unspayed female dogs, even though I visit the vet regularly for all of the preventative and other vaccines needed. Now with pyometra one clinic quoted $3,000 to spay [which cures pyometra] because it's considered an emergency..... Then I discovered Spay Me clinic by a call to my local Humane Society, who referred me to a "Transport" individual from my area that knows about the low-cost spay /neuter procedures provided at SpayMe. What a BLESSING! Spay Me is a non-profit organization that deserves our combined support, including donations of time, money and word of mouth referrals!!! Spay Me coddled my dog with love and OUTSTANDING health care that did not relate to price at all! Dr. Kaitlin Young, DVM is a God-sent! What an incredible doctor, who skillfully performed a "complex" operation and essentially healed my dog, Masheeba. She briefed me on what to expect, but what was NOT expected was how loving and compassionate everyone is at this clinic! Dr. Young wrote in her report how they warmed my dog after the surgery, "warming was done with warm towels, rice socks and a warm-air blanket". This reminds me of a spa treatment! It's just remarkable to find such a loving and caring facility without regard for the extreme prices found at other places. Help me in supporting this outstanding non-profit agency and let your combined efforts help this organization thrive and survive! Thanks to the entire staff at Spay Me, and a special thanks to Dr. Kaitlin Young, DVM for an impressive "animal rescue" through the skilled surgical offerings rendered here. Love you all! Rochelle

Spay Me! was a lifesaver for my family! I recently lost my job and took a pay cut with my new job. I am so pleased to have found your clinic. The staff are wonderful and accomodating, friendly and forth coming with what is going to go on with your animal. I work hard and as alot of households now...I live check to check. My vet was way too expensive to neuter my pup, I was getting very upset calling 3-5 different places for prices...too much money. Big THANK YOU to Shelter From The Storm - SpayMe!

I just wanted to post a positive review and big THANK YOU regarding Shelter From The Storm's low-cost high-volume spay/neuter services offered via www.SpayMe.com -- they advertise often on Craigslist and I took the opportunity to get my two 8-month-old kittens fixed as they had just started going into heat (time flies and before you know it, they aren't kittens anymore!). Both sisters were spayed and given rabies vaccinations and FVRCP (distemper) vaccinations for a total cost of $80. That is not even half the cost of getting ONE female cat spayed through a traditional veterinary clinic, let alone adding a rabies vaccine and FVRCP vaccine. Low-cost aside, they did a fabulous job and my girls are now happy and healthy. When they came home, they were a bit groggy from the anesthesia, but content to curl up on the couch and rest. They were happy to see me and their feline buddies and promptly came over to headbutt and rub on everyone. I looked at the incisions on both girls and I was absolutely floored -- both were only 1 inch long! I have had my other 2 female cats spayed at regular vet clinics (including the kittens' mother - a pregnant semi-feral stray I took in) and the incision was always 2-3 inches in length and honestly a bit scary to think of how painful it must have been. But these tiny incisions were neat, clean, and didn't have one single sign of irritation or infection -- no redness and very very little swelling. By the next morning, my girls were walking around the house normally, sitting in the windows, eating/drinking, and being their normal happy go lucky selves. By the second day, they were RUNNING and playing with each other and wrestling with toys as if nothing had happened. That told me how good they were feeling and that they weren't in too much pain and there were no complications. I tried to limit their activity just to avoid any damage to the surgical site, but they were adamant about having fun and doing what they do best and it was almost impossible to stop them! It has now been exactly 1 week since they were spayed, and the incisions are almost completely healed up and both girls are back to being bouncy, affectionate, silly, cuddlebugs with purrmotors -- instead of being obnoxious, crabby, and overwhelmed by hormones. It's almost like they were turned back into young kittens again, before ever even going into heat. I am extremely satisfied with the results from SFTS's services and grateful for the reduced cost, as times are tough and veterinary care is harder to afford these days. The fact that they can offer such high-quality spay/neuter services so affordably to the public is pretty much a Godsend. I HIGHLY encourage those of you wishing to get your pets spayed/neutered to contact SFTS/SpayMe! and make the appt. to bring them in and have it done. You'll save money and your pet will get top-level treatment and service. Then you'll have one less thing to worry about and can enjoy the rest of the years you and your pet(s) have together in a much happier and healthier state. Thanks!

We rescued our adult female dog three weeks ago and spaying her was a top goal. After paying the adoption fee, initial vet bill for exam and vaccinations(we had no history on this dog)we had already paid $300+. The spay at our local vet would have been close to 300$ dollars. I came in before the spay to have the dog examined as she also has dental issues. I met with one of the vets and she answered all my questions and made me feel confident that Spay Me! was a very professional option for pet owners that don't have a money tree in the backyard! I can't say enough about the friendly and competent staff. She received all services that we agreed on and was sent home with all needed meds and equipment(E collar). The incision was so small and approximated so well that it took me a few minutes to locate it on her belly!! She was perfectly clean when we picked her up and is recovering quickly. I was thrilled with the whole process and would highly recommend this option to anyone needing to "fix" their pet. Even her pain pills were pre-split:) Thanks to all at Spay Me! I appreciate what you do for families and their pets. Keep up the wonderful work.
